Adventure Holiday

Graduates, undergraduates, school-leavers, students doing a gap year,
career breakers ... and many others.

Teaching-Building- Enviromental-Medicine

Madventurer offer organised expeditions that give you the opportunity to undertake a wide range of project work and adventurous travel hand-in-hand.

Working in Ghana is an amazing experience, with its people considered one of the friendliest in West Africa. You will be able to get a real feel for African culture and life as you make your home and live alongside the Ghanaians in some of the Volta Region villages. It is a country steeped in tradition where you will be able to experience many of Ghana's colourfully fun year round festivals, and join in with the exotic drumming parties on the beach.

Teaching
The mad teacher project is one really big challenge with one definite aim. The enthusiasm and fresh thinking you can bring to a school will be of tremendous benefit to the teachers. It is good to show them a more creative side to teaching, which will aid them in conveying the specific knowledge..

Building

The mad building project gives you a chance to really get stuck in and do some fun, challenging and beneficial outdoor work. We concentrate on building new school buildings that would otherwise not be able to be funded by the local communities. Many of the existing buildings are unsafe, unsecured or so dilapidated that it is hard to work effectively in them. You will be led by the experienced local masons and carpenters, and don’t have to be a 'muscleman'.

Medical

The project will be an excellent opportunity to experience medicine in a totally different environment to the one that you have known so far. You will gain increased knowledge in a variety of medical fields, some rarely witnessed in the U.K. The enthusiasm and fresh thinking you can bring to the hospital will be of tremendous benefit to the nurses who have to battle daily with the task of providing good medical care in the face of extreme poverty.

Sport
The children take a keen interest in sport and you will be able to organise classes working alongside the teaching timetable and in conjunction with the schools. The children are all keen to learn new activities so if you have a talent that you wish to use in the village then inform us on your application and we'll see what can be done with it.
